To provide the core features of Zen Gate (synchronising your progress and your lantern gallery), we collect the following data:
- Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your email address via Google Firebase Authentication.
- Focus Data: We store your focus history, including the number and types of lanterns earned (Wood, Stone, Marble) and the number of Burned Wood penalties incurred.
- Technical Data: We may collect basic device information (model, OS version) to troubleshoot bugs and ensure the pixel art renders correctly on your screen.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data strictly for the following purposes:
- Cross-Device Sync: To ensure your Lantern Gallery is available on any device you log into.
- The «Burned Wood» Mechanic: To detect if the app enters the background state during an active timer, which triggers the penalty mechanic. We do not track your activity in other apps.
- App Improvement: To monitor app performance and fix crashes.
4. Third-Party Services
We use Google Firebase to power our backend. Your data is stored securely on Google’s servers. Firebase may collect certain information automatically; you can view their privacy terms at https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to any third-party marketing firms.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
We keep your data as long as your account is active. You have the right to delete your data at any time:
- In-App Deletion: You can use the «Delete Account» button within the app settings to permanently remove your email and all focus history from our servers.

6. Children’s Privacy
Zen Gate is a general-audience productivity tool. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13. If we discover that such data has been collected, we will delete it immediately.
