1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Kanso gate (the «App»), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Zen Gate is a productivity tool designed to help users focus through a ritualized timer system. Users earn digital rewards in a gallery (Wood, Stone, and Marble lanterns) by maintaining focus and remaining within the App for the duration of a timer.
3. The «Burned Wood» Mechanic
- The Ritual: To earn a successful lantern, the user must stay within the App’s foreground for the entire selected duration.
- The Penalty: If the user navigates away from the App, answers a phone call (depending on device settings), or closes the App during an active timer, the current progress is lost and recorded as «Burned Wood.»
- User Acknowledgment: You acknowledge that this penalty is a core functional feature of the App intended to discourage distractions. Zen Gate is not responsible for any frustration or perceived loss resulting from this mechanic.
4. User Accounts and Data
- Registration: To sync progress across devices, users must register an account using a valid email via Firebase Authentication.
- Responsibility: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activities that occur under your account.
- Termination: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in fraudulent activity.
5. Intellectual Property
- Ownership: All content within the App, including but not limited to the Zen Gate name, custom pixel art, lantern designs (Wood, Stone, Marble, Burned), UI layouts, and the «Torii Gate» branding, is the exclusive intellectual property of the developer.
- License: We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, or reverse-engineer the App.
6. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
- «As Is» Basis: Zen Gate is provided on an «as is» and «as available» basis. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted.
- No Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of productivity, missed deadlines, battery drain, or data loss.
- Device Safety: Do not use Zen Gate while operating a motor vehicle or in any situation where full physical attention is required for safety.
7. In-App Content
The digital lanterns (Wood, Stone, Marble) and badges earned within the App have no real-world monetary value and cannot be exchanged for currency or physical goods.
8. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Netherlands, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
